]]> http://www.sockeyeshockey.com/2010/02/26/help-promote-sockeyes-hockey-with-facebook/feed/ 0 Sockeyes Invited to Quest for the Crown 3 Tournament http://www.sockeyeshockey.com/2010/02/10/sockeyes-invited-to-quest-for-the-crown-3-tournament/ http://www.sockeyeshockey.com/2010/02/10/sockeyes-invited-to-quest-for-the-crown-3-tournament/#comments Wed, 10 Feb 2010 08:38:38 +0000 Mike! http://sockeyeshockey.com/?p=4 The Seattle Sockeyes adult hockey team of the Greater Seattle Hockey League has been invited to play in the third annual Quest for the Crown charity tournament which benefits NHL’s Hockey Fights Cancer foundation.  The Sockeyes goal for playing in this tournament is to raise money and awareness of some the most prolific diseases to hit the American populous.  Last year, Quest for the Crown has raised over $10,000 in two years for NHL’s Hockey Fights Cancer foundation.  This year we’re looking to beat that total and you can help us achieve our goal.  We are looking for help in the form of donations, large and small to help us represent Seattle in Denver.  Each of the players are contributing their own money and time, but it is just not enough to get us all the way to our goal of $3000.  We will using your donations to help the team travel to Denver and add to the large fund being collected by the tournament.  We would like to show that the Sockeyes and Seattle have a great base of supporters who want to help help fight cancer.  We have set up an incentive program for larger donations (any donation over $100) which could include links on our website, banners at the games, lengthy detailed page on our webpage, names being adhered to jerseys and more.  If you or someone you know are interested, please visit our contact page so we can work out the arrangement.

Lastly, this tournament is a great deal of fun and really puts the focus on not only hockey, but the reason behind the tournament.  It is the combination of the game and helping raise money and awareness of cancer that draws the Sockeyes to Denver to play in this great tournament.  If you have personal stories of loved ones who have suffered through cancer, please feel free to leave your story or comments and share with the rest of the community because we’re playing for you too!
